Do you remember what your screen time was before you tried SHIFT?

My screen time was crazy. It was like seven, eight hours in the worst days.

I can say I was reading an article for work, I was doing this for work, but let's be honest.

It was five minutes of this video, then answering WhatsApp, then I jump a little bit into Instagram, then I'm doomscrolling.

Those four and a half-ish hours that you've gotten back since you started shifting, where have you found them reallocated to in your own life?

Good question. I'm trying to go back to more contemplation, more walking, being outside, reading outside.

It's kind of crazy, life after smartphone. You need to relearn how to read, how to spend time on an article.

I love to run. I go for long runs, and sometimes I was afraid not to run with my phone because I would be like, "Oh my gosh, I'm going to be out for one and a half, two hours. What am I going to do?"

Right now it is just going out running and listening to whatever is happening around me. Birds, the lake, the wind.

It gives you the chance. It gives the chance to your mind and your spirit to go places that you cannot go if your attention is taken all the time.

Was this worth your investment? Oh, 100%. Yes.

I have six daughters. My third daughter, she's the first one we've ever allowed to have social media because there was never a way to control it.

What was your screen time prior to SHIFT? Ooh, it was about eight hours.

I do work on my phone as well, but I would say more than half of that is just scrolling anyways.

I'd say one of the biggest things that I like about the app is the schedule length.

I am chronically online as soon as I wake up. It's the first thing I go to.

So I purposely schedule a block from 6 AM to I think it's like 9 AM, so I don't start my day in that bad habit.

Another cool thing is I use AI a lot, so Claude or ChatGPT. A lot of times it takes a minute or two to respond, and I would constantly check my phone in between.

So when I catch myself this time, I go straight into SHIFT and I'll hit a 60-minute block or 90-minute block.

It doesn't take the trigger away because the trigger will still happen, but it'll take the scrolling away.

Would you recommend this to other people, and has it been worth your money? Yeah, I definitely would say it's been worth my money.

In the amount of hours it's saved, the math is there, but what you can't quantify is the marriage, being there for spouse, and not scrolling straight on your phone.

It's just the mental health that comes with that. The cognitive benefits.

I've been on it for three weeks or so. Two days and 23 hours, it saved me. So that's time I now have that I wouldn't have.
